Another Wayback Wednesday Walk from January 19th 2017

The weather for the past couple of days has been deary – rainy, cold, sleety, nasty, cold, grey, windy – did I mention cold? Needless to say, not weather for wandering around our yard with my camera. So once again, I’ve dipped back into my photo archives for today’s Wednesday Walk.

This particular set of shots comes from January 19th, 2017 – again, the weather was cold, but the snow had stopped overnight, leaving everything beautifully coated with white. When I headed out to start hubby’s work van at 7am, I couldn’t resist bringing my camera along. Then about an hour later, the sun came out and it was like an entirely different day! I decided to share a half dozen from both relatively short walks.

Don’t forget to check out @tattoodjay‘s latest post called Wednesday walk In Soho and Steem Basic Income Give away for more information about his weekly wanderings, as well as several sweet shots of some SoHo signs in NYC.

Now, on to my pictures!

The view of the woods behind our house, from the driveway

A couple of steps later, and you can see deeper into the woods

I decided to overexposure this shot so you could see the Mourning Dove hanging out on the snow covered branches

This shot looked terrible when I tried overexposing it, but you can still kinda see this Dark-eyed Junco somehow found a seed among the snowflakes!

Mr. Downy Woodpecker provided some spots of color….

…as did this Mourning Dove who perched a short distance from the first.

What a difference ninety minutes makes!

This is almost the same spot (but the camera is pointed up higher) as the second shot

Everything is beautifully frosted!

The sky and the trees both dressed in white

Mr. Black-capped Chickadee also found a seed…

…while Mr. Mourning Dove kept a close eye from a nearby, no longer snow-covered tree top, hoping to figure out where to find some of his own!
