Next Wednesday, April 26th 2017 at 8:16 am, the Dark Taurus Moon arrives in my time zone. However, your mileage may vary – be sure to check for your local time HERE. Since this new /dark moon is at the closest point to Earth during its monthly trip around the block (called the perigee) it also qualifies as a Supermoon, the first of the three for 2017 (May and June also have Super New Moons with May being the Superest).
Once again, I turned to the interwebz to see what this means for us astrologically. Here’s a snippet from an article over at TAROT.com, called New Moon in Taurus Horoscopes: Plant seeds for your future at April’s New Moon by Rick Levine. Be sure to check out the whole article, and see what this means for your specific astrological sign.
The New Moon in earthy Taurus on April 26, 2017, brings a break in the cosmic madness that has bounced us around during recent weeks. Since Taurus is a Fixed sign that pursues simple pleasures, this lunation gives us an obvious signal of calmer waters ahead. However, we must take advantage of the clear sailing while it lasts. Forget about all the mental gymnastics, complex rationalizations, and inspirational dreams. It’s time to move forward with our big ideas, even if our progress is negligible at first.
Nevertheless, we can’t avoid the more complicated issues that seem to recycle from the past while mischievous Mercury is still retrograde. In fact, Mercury hooks up with electric Uranus during this New Moon to reignite brilliant thoughts that we might have set aside. Fortunately, we have the strength of our convictions to follow through with our plans. Although we may be distracted by one thing or another, the Bull’s determination rules. We can effectively capture the essence of this powerful New Moon by acknowledging the fecund energy of the fertile ground and planting seeds of practical intentions.
I’ve put together a couple of simple rituals to do at this time. Both of these graphics are from earlier blog posts (HERE and HERE).
Finally, here’s the graphic I created for the occasion. Be sure to shout out in the comments with your own favorite way to celebrate this phase of the moon. Bright Dark/New Moon blessings!
I like the idea of moving forward with big dreams, Traci. I have been aware of full super moons but didn’t know there were new super moons.
Same here, Molly! I wasn’t aware of them either, until I started seeing mentions of them last year. Now there are all manner of supers, micros, blues, and black moons!
Love the idea of letting go and moving forward. When I read it was time to move forward with our big ideas I thought of the novel I am writing for Camp NaWri. I wasn’t thinking beyond camp (April). But last few days ideas trickling in and now I’m thinking there is so much more to it. So I guess the universe is saying DO IT. Thanks!
Awesomeness, Amelia! Definitely do it, and you’re very welcome!
