Fall foliage shots on October 8th and today for @parul2411’s #ThursdayTreeLove

For the last Thursday Tree Love (hosted by Parul over on her amazing #WordPress blog, Happiness and Food) I managed to get outside and get some fall foliage shots on October 8th, but I wasn’t able to put the post together. However, since the hostess herself was also running behind and didn’t get a post out, I don’t feel so bad – thanks for that, Parul!

If you want to join in the Tree love fun, it’s really easy – here’s the description from her latest post today, called #ThursdayTreeLove – 97

Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on November 12, 2020. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.

If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

Now for my shots – five from October 8th, and five from approximately the same spots from today (October 22nd). Hope you enjoy!

Fall foliage shots on October 8th and today

Fall foliage shots on October 8th
1. Two weeks ago, you can see that most of the green is gone and the yellows, reds, oranges, and browns have taken over.

2. Today, much of that color is now on the forrest floor!

3. Again, two weeks ago we were just seeing peeks of color.

4. Now there’s lots and lots of it!

5. I remember when I took this shot, I was a bit frustrated that the little bits of color didn’t show up quite as much as I felt they did off camera.

6. Today I didn’t have to worry about the color showing up!

7. On the 8th, the brilliant yellow leaves of that tree standing at the edge of the rocks on the right (if that makes sense…lol) had all fallen to the ground already, which I thought made this shot look somewhat dull.

8. Today, even though many of the leaves have fallen thanks to the rain and wind storms last week, it’s far from dull!

9. Still lots of green at the edge of the yard, but with lots of color peeking through.

10. Again, what a difference two weeks can make!

Thanks again for giving me the excuse to take a couple short walks around my yard to appreciate the autumn colors before it all disappears, while snapping a few new tree pictures, Parul! While I’m fairly certain the leaves will all be on the ground for the next Tree Love Thursday, what I might do is to make one mega post with all five shot locations over the weeks, so you can see the changes over time (and I’ll probably add some of the extra foliage shots I took along the way).

Happy Thursday everyone!

  1. Love the colors and the fall foliage. And you are right – two weeks have brought in colors and in such abundance that any one would fall in love with Nature all over again 🙂
And such a ‘duh’ thing I did. Forgot about TTL 😛 But so glad you all are around.
I hope to see you back with your mega post, Traci on the 12th. Take care!
