Welcome to Tarot Tuesday for the week of May 1st, 2018! My monthly free Tarot card readings were so popular, I decided to make them a weekly feature. If you want to be sure to catch the next one, you can follow my blog on WordPress or Bloglovin’, stalk my Facebook, Twitter, or other social media (all my links are in the widget on the left), or simply bookmark this site and set an alarm on your phone for Tuesdays at 8am EST.
For those wondering, I use my Universal Waite Smith Tarot Deck to draw the cards, but since it’s so well loved (I’ve owned it for a bazillion years), I then substitute my Radiant Deck for the photographs. And for the record, I take a new picture of the card backs every week – first, I do the cards face up, then flip them over and take a snap of the back. I add the numbers and such with Canva, and use the picture from the top of the post to create the blog graphic.
Also, while it probably doesn’t need to be said, I’m saying it anyway – this is for fun, and my messages should never be a substitute for your own good judgement and common sense. In fact, that applies to most things in life – if your gut tells you it’s not right, always listen.
Now, on to the reading! Pick the card (or cards) that you’re drawn to, then scroll down to the bottom of this post for the card reveal and my short interpretation of what to expect in the upcoming week.
As you’re scrolling through, please enjoy this amazing song, written and performed by @trevorpetrie. I’m not exactly sure how I ended up bookmarking this song in my “Steemit Favorite Songs” but as soon as I started re-listening to it (with an ear to how well it fit this week’s post), I knew this was the one. However, since this post is wicked old (by Steemit standards), please consider hopping on the post Imaginative play – a trip to the beach to show the new-dad-for-a-second-time some appreciation for his awesome talent!
“Many times I wonder
what are we doing here?
I stop thinking and I realize in the end
you will always , always be in me.I’ve come to not hear you reach the bottom
such immensity , lost in our truth over here
because you will always , always be in me.A voice , like a feeling
a song, or something else
that helps me wake up
to keep up , not let the guard down
to always go forward
don’t wait , I won’t teach you how to live.Movement , things have movement
the opportunity to be in liberty
because you will always , always be in me.Like a blow , like a rain
like a ray of the moon
you’ll breathe into my life, until it explodes
because you will always , always be in me.”~ Music and lyrics by Trevor Petrie
Now, here’s the moment you’ve been waiting for! Your message is…
Drum roll please?
This!
1. Four of Cups
Rethink your situation. You’re not happy with the way things are. In fact, you’re so focused on the things you wish you had, that you don’t see the very thing you want being offered to you. Take a step back and think about how you’re viewing the situation – stop sulking about what could have been, or what you might have had, and start appreciating what is, and the blessings you might not even recognize. And while this applies to all situations in your life, not just romantic ones, I think Survivor sums it up nicely with, “I was living for a dream, loving for a moment. Taking on the world, that was just my style. Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever. The search is over, you were with me all the while.”
2. Six of Wands
You did it! You had a rough go of it, and tons of competition (not to mention complications), but you pulled it off. However, you’re feeling a bit like William Thatcher/Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein – either you feel someone else is getting the credit (in William’s case, his alias), or maybe you don’t feel you’re worthy. You totally kicked butt, and it’s time to own it! Stand tall and appreciate what you accomplished – you did yourself proud! Keep in mind what was said in the movie …
“Young William Thacher: Some day, I’ll be a knight.
Man in Stocks: A Thachers son? A knight? You might as well try to change the stars!
Young William Thacher: Can it be done father? Can a man change the stars?
John Thatcher: Yes William. If he believes enough, a man can do anything.
3. The Star
Make a wish. You’ve been to hell and back, but now is the time to put that all behind you. While you can’t (and shouldn’t) erase all the memories of the bad times, it’s within your power to make a positive change for the future. Remember, sometimes luck ain’t enough, you’ve got to make your own breaks. Look at the twinkling light in the darkness, close your eyes, and see your wish as already manifested. Can’t find the light? Pick up the closest mirror – this card is also a reminder that the one who is responsible for bringing the most light into our lives is ourselves.
So, what did you think of your message? Please be sure to shout out in the comment section, and let me know what you thought. And, as is the case with all my posts, if you enjoyed it, please feel free to share. Bright blessings!
