I’ve had the refrain from Torn Between Two Lovers playing in my brain for days…
“Torn between two lovers, feelin’ like a fool
Lovin’ both of you is breakin’ all the rules”
Only I hear it as –
Torn between two platforms, feelin’ like a tool
Posting (on) both of you is breakin’ all the rules…
I’ve been blogging on WordPress since September, 2005. Granted, in those early years, posts were a bit scarce (and some points, nonexistent), but I’ve been blogging consistently since November 2014. It started with a post a day for National Blog Post Month (cousin to NaNoWriMo), then turned into three posts a week until late 2016, when Tarot Tuesdays and four posts each week became a thing.
However, like many long term relationships, it’s become like the proverbial pair of comfortable old jeans – awesome to wear, but they don’t exactly make you feel sexy.
Then Steemit someone comes along, and suddenly – fireworks! They make you giggle, and give you that come-hither look that sends tingles to your toes. You toy with the idea of breaking up with old faithful, but you’re torn – if you split, not only do you lose them, you also lose all the (blogging) friends you have because of that relationship (they always say it won’t change things, but it always does). And it’s not like you don’t truly love your first love – they just aren’t satisfying you the way they used to (thanks for nothin’ Google AdSense!).
What’s a girl to do? And why can’t you have both?
Back in January I decided to focus just on Steemit, to see what would happen. What happened was, I found my tribe –
And then another tribes –
But I still love my original tribe –
So I’ve decided not to choose between the two.
So for those of you reading this on WordPress, expect a bit of a change. Tarot Tuesdays will continue as always, but my other regular posting days (Musing Monday, Witchy Wednesday, and Foto Friday) will now just be, “Musings” “Witchiness” and “Photography” and I’ll share content on them randomly, as I am inspired to (rather than feeling I “have” to post because of the day of the week).
Also, as I’ve already been doing with the Tarot Tuesday posts, I’m going to post my stuff on Steemit first, and then on WordPress at some point afterwards. That way, I don’t run the risk of cheetah (Steemit’s resident plagiarism bot) catching my scent and hunting me down for “stealing” my own words.
For those of you reading this on Steemit, fair warning – you’re stuck with me now! And don’t forget…
For everybody – here are the tribes I’ve mentioned in my post (I used to belong to a bunch more on Steemit, but I’ve pared down a bit in recent days) –
Big Up Your Blog – https://twitter.com/bigupyourblog
@steemsugars – https://discord.gg/D2V8nq9
@steemusa – https://discord.gg/efq4spQ
@steemitbloggers – The SB nightclub is currently at maximum capacity, but as soon as the bouncer gives me the nod, I’ll see if I can sneak you in through the side door.
Finally, I’d like to share a gift from the amazing @zord189 for all of us over at @steemitbloggers

OMG *waves wildly!* Hi! Happy V Day! I’ve had a look at Steemit, at a few links you’ve shared and so on. I kinda get the Reddit-ness of it, but not the coiny side of it, so that scared me a bit rahaha! You do you, have fun and keep on writing in your amazing way x
I’ve never even heard of Steemit. For a millennial, I feel so out of date with all the new social media.
Glad you are doing both. I live tarot Tuesdays
I feel like one of the kids in the neighborhood is moving across town. Sure we promise to phone each other and take the bus downtown on Saturday’s to meet up at our favorite hangout, or at least that is the plan. And it works, at first. Until her new friends demand more of her time.
Don’t forget about us in the old hood.
Okay, maybe a little too dramatic. I am glad you have found a new platform that jazzes you. I have never heard of Steemit. Must check it out.
Enjoy your new hood
