Last Monday, I wrote about the pending arrival of my new toy. One week later, I feel compelled by my obsession to do a camera followup. I’m happy to report my camera arrived in plenty of time for me to get shots of the full moon, and I’m still ridiculously happy about the whole thing. I did a post on Friday, with a bunch of pictures taken over the week, called “I heart my new Nikon camera.” However, that was three whole days ago, and I have a few more to share. *grin*

Wow! those evening colors are gorgeous. Just beautiful.
Thank you, Parul. Mother Nature puts on quite a show, doesn’t she? π
I love the Tufted Titmouse. I also love that there is a bird called the Tufted Titmouse.
The first time I shared a picture of a Tufted Titmouse on FB (having just discovered their existence) I believe I posted something like. “And yes, I’m five years old and giggling like crazy every time I say “Titmouse.'” π
More beautiful pics. π Love the tufted titmouse especially. They can be soooo cranky.
Thank, Em. Yep, for such tiny things, they certainly have big angst!
You are an exceptionally talented photographer. Your world is beautiful.
Thank you so much, Lori – your comment made my entire week! π
Wow — what clear shots. How far away were you from the bird?
I was about 70 feet away (according to my husband – I’m terrible at judging distances). I just uploaded the shot I took, showing (with a red circle) the location of the bird, relative to where I was standing. The zoom on this camera is amazing!

Beautiful shots Traci! You’re inspiring me to get my DSLR out- I haven’t used it for a long time. It’s a crime, I know!!!
Thanks, Catwoman! I’m glad you’re inspired to start snapping – can’t wait to see what you capture!
So beautiful! I love the intensity of the colors, the amazing details in the bird closeup, and how the moon doesn’t look like a speck. Wonderful toy, you’re putting it to great use!
Thank you, Jess. I’m having so much fun with it! π
That seems like an awesome camera! I saw on the Amazon page that it has wifi. Does it allow you to upload photos directly from the camera?
Really love the photos β especially the bird!
Yes it does, Stephanie! My husband tried it out when we first got it, and I can’t remember if he got it working, but in theory I could shoot a picture, then directly upload it to my Instagram. π
Thanks so much!
Sweet!
Lovely captures. The sunset colors are really wow. The bird picture is pretty crisp in details.
Thank you, Shail. I was amazed at how well the bird picture came out, considering how far away I was (about 70 feet/21 meters).
