MM – December 4th was National Cookie Day

Drat! I totally forgot this year that December 4th was National Cookie Day! However, I plan to belatedly celebrate by making a batch or three of my holiday necessities (the family would rebel if I didn’t) – Thumbprint cookies with buttercream frosting. I shared the recipe on National Cookie Day last year (click HERE to see it), but I spaced taking pictures of last year’s result (probably because I was still recovering from surgery). So for today, until I can get a new shot, I’m using a picture I took back in 2013 (before my spiffy new Nikon), and I decked it out with some holiday clipart from PicMonkey.

Do you have a favorite cookie recipe? Be sure to shout out in the comment section – I wouldn’t mind adding some new yummies to my repertoire.

Happy belated National Cookie Day!

December 4th was National Cookie Day. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. I will keep going while until you turn green. December 4th was National Cookie Day. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice. 1. I have too many favourite cookie recipes! In fact, I am in the midst of organizing and downsizing dramatically my recipe collection and I’ll be doing cookies at some point this week or next. =:o

  2. Yummy! I apparently missed that! My favorite cookie by far is a sugar cookie with icing. Then pulled from the freezer. I’ve been known to eat 7 of them in one sitting.

    1. Yep, iced sugar cookies are delish too – I’ll have to try the freezer trick some time. I don’t even want to think about how many cookies I’ve eaten at one time! πŸ˜€

  3. I enjoy making chocolate chip cookies. My process feels sort of rhythmic. Though I didn’t know about National Cookie Day either!

  4. National Cookie Day. That’s fabulous. I also like making chocolate chip cookies, because they’re so easy. My favourite is probably a ginger cookie (though we call them biscuits) – they have quite a strong ginger flavour, and you stick two together with vanilla icing. Yum. That’s my favourite, now, and when I was a child. I might make some, and then post about them (though not today) Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. I’ve had ginger cookies before, and they were delicious, but never thought to layer them with frosting…sounds heavenly! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for your cookie post, and you’re quite welcome, Mali! πŸ™‚

  5. Ooooh, pretty sparkly yumminess! I used to bake Christmas cookies all the time, until I discovered I had Celiac. I can make gluten free cookies, but you’re out of the cookie exchanges and the big friends-baking-together events are out unless EVERYONE’s baking gluten free. I do love chocolate-dipped macaroons, though. I’ll have to find that recipe for you! Like chocolaty coconut clouds, those are.

    1. Chocolaty coconut clouds? I totally need to try them! Especially since our eldest might have a gluten-sensitivity – I bet she’d love them too (although she’d prefer white chocolate, silly girl). I’ll keep my eyes open for the recipe, Jess, and thanks! πŸ™‚
