The first time I heard about the “Facebook Killer” social network, Ello (back in 2014), this is the first thing that popped in my head –

I managed to wrangle an invite, and joined the site on October 23rd, 2014 (yes, I searched my Gmail for the exact date). Since that time, I’ve made it a point to share my blog posts there, and occasionally scroll through my feed to see what other folks were posting, but usually as an afterthought. Then a few days ago, I got this public message on my most recent Foto Friday post –
Traci, I love your photography. And I dig your spiritual tastes. So hey, I own ElloPagans but I haven’t had time to do anything with it in quiet a while. If you look through its history, you can get a feeling about what I was doing with it. If you’d like to take it over and breathe some life into it, I’ll give it to you. Lemme know.
Long story short, I now have another bit of street cred for my Internet G33k reputation. Oh, and I’ll definitely be spending more time there. *grin*
Feel free to shout out if you’d like an invite to Ello. All I need is an email addy, and I’ll send one right along. If you’re already there, this is where you can find me –

Read the inaugural post which explains
the idea and how you can participate too.”

Okay I think I might want an invite just due to the Labyrinth analogy.
Congrats on the pagan page!
Feel free to drop me a line (admin at traciyork dot com) with your email address, and I’ll send you an invite. And thanks!
Congrats on a new project! I love, love the worm from Labyrinth clip. I feel like I have hit my limit on social media, although a “facebook killer” sounds lovely (even though I have a love-hate relationship with the book of face.)
Thanks, Jess! I think most people have mixed feelings about the book of face (I know I do too). I always use my moniker InternetG33k (g33k = geek, for those who aren’t familiar with leetspeak…LOL) as an excuse to sign up with new social media sights. However, I think I’m pretty well set now too.
Oh cool! I remember there being buzz and invites floating around when Ello first came out, but I didn’t realize there was such an active community there. I’m all for alternatives to Facebook!
Feel free to shout out if you would like an invite, Stephanie! There’s definitely a different vibe than FB. π
You just made me totally want to get back into Ello. It has been a while since I’ve been on.
Congratulations!
Thanks, Mel!
Congrats, Traci. π
Thank you, Shail!
