For the first time since 2010, I have a NaNoWriMo quandary. My original plan was to write something based on the fictional Internet Geek character I created for my old blog. However, I couldn’t seem to puzzle out exactly what I wanted from that story line, so here I am – ten days away from the finish line, with only 2,781 words to my name.
However, as they say on Galaxy Quest, “Never give up, never surrender”. I’ve been (almost) here before – for my first NaNo in ’07, I only wrote about 10K during the first 20 days, and the bulk came in a mad sprint at the end. Only 4,722 words a day between now and the 30th and I’m golden. Oh, that and a new story idea.
*whimper*
So, time to put out an APB on my muse. If you see her, say hello (h/t Jeff Buckley).

Read the inaugural post which explains
the idea and how you can participate too.”

NaNoWriMo Quandary. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. I will keep going while until you turn green. NaNoWriMo Quandary. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice. No matter what, you’re nearly 3,000 words ahead of where you were at the beginning of the month! I also like Parul’s suggestion to keep going and find your way as you go. And keep paging that muse!
That’s an excellent point, Stephanie – thanks so much!
Wishing you all the best for the mad sprint π
Thank you, Shail!
