Early last night, as I took our cat Sid outside (on leash) for his evening constitutional, I noticed the gorgeous crescent moon just over the tree tops. Here are a few of the shots I snapped of the new year’s new moon.
(Yes, I know it was new on the 29th, but it’s still a crescent, so I say it counts! *grin*)

New Year New Moon. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. I will keep going while until you turn green. New Year New Moon. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice. LOL! Thanks, Mel. Technically, we don’t take Sid out for walks – we take him out on leash so he can “do his business” outside (thereby negating the need for a litter box) two or three times a day, depending on the weather. During the nice weather, if we’re sitting outside, we’ll also have him out with us on leash, so he can lounge in the grass and soak up the sunshine. We’ve had him since 2004, but only started doing the leash thing in 2012, and it’s worked out amazingly well. π

I saw this the other night too. Absolutely lovely.
I’ve had a few FB friends post similar pictures, so she really was especially lovely to have caught so many people’s eye.
Oh, wow, that is so cool — to see the overlay of the two celestial bodies like that. Just magical.
It was even more awesome in person. As good as my camera is, it couldn’t capture the whole scene adequately. Working on it, though. π
Oh wow! Those pictures are gorgeous!
Thank you so much, Risa!
Your close ups are incredible. But wait, I have to back up. The cat gets walked every day? I had no clue cats even liked walks!

Amazing photography!
Thanks, Ashley!
Beautiful, as always! How do you take such amazing photos of the moon?
Thanks, Stephanie! Lots of practice, an awesome (and not terribly expensive) camera, and a decent tripod. π
Lovely shots … again!
Thanks, Mali! π
