Welcome to my Quote Challenge Week One results! If you missed my post last Monday, this is what I decided to do for National Photography Month –
So, this is my challenge for myself, and I need your help. Please leave me one of your favorite quotes, and I’ll pair it with a picture I’ve taken. The catch (for me) is that it will have to be something I’ve snapped during this month (May 2016).
Seven of my wonderful readers gave me quotes, and these are the pairings I’ve come up with so far. I initially thought I’d work my way down the list in order, but I’m finding it easier to create them as inspiration hits. There’s still time to add your own favorite in the comment section – I’m posting four today, and three next week, but if I get enough additional quotes, I’ll extend this another week or two.
Oh, and thank you to everyone who has provided amazing words to pair with my pictures – I’m really enjoying this!
UPDATE May 24th, 2016 – Completely forgot to mention yesterday that I’m also putting these up on my Pinterest board. Please feel free to share them!
From Dee (check out her website HERE) –
“Teach only LOVE, for that is what you are.” ~ A Course in Miracles
From Chris –
“The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~ Anaïs Nin
From Melissa (check out her website HERE) –
“The breezes at dawn have secrets to tell you
Don’t go back to sleep!
You must ask for what you really want.
Don’t go back to sleep!
People are going back and forth
across the doorsill where the two worlds touch,
The door is round and open
Don’t go back to sleep!” ~ Rumi
From Mel (check out her blog HERE) –
“So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible.” ~ Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth
“Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is?
Read the inaugural post which explains
the idea and how you can participate too.”
~ Melissa S. Ford, Stirrup Queens
I continue to just love the heck out of these quotes and images. The Phantom Tollbooth/Teensy Spider on Dandelion Fluff one is my favorite. I should take the Rumi quote to heart…I hit snooze too often and feel that I miss quiet morning moments too frequently.
Thanks, Jess! One advantage I’ve found to getting up with hubby at WayTooEarly O’Clock is the opportunity to take advantage of those moments. Not as often as I’d like though – just because my eyes are open doesn’t mean I’m actually awake. 😀
Great photos! Seems like you’re enjoying your challenge!
I’m totally enjoying this – thanks, Stephanie!
What a fun idea. I have done this for some of my favourite quotes on my No Kidding in NZ blog. It’s always fun to see other people’s favourite quotes though – and your photos, of course.
Cool, Mali! And thank you!
These are delightful!
Thanks, Cyn!
Such fun! I’ll play. Abe Lincoln: Folks are usually about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
Excellent – thanks, Lori! Hmmm, have to put my very tall thinking cap for this one. 😀
I love the image with mine! I’m sure the dandelion can’t imagine it will one day blow apart and become dozens of new golden flowers.
I’m so glad, Mel. Did you also notice the tiny spider using the dandelion fluff to support its web? Guess he didn’t Google safe building supplies.
This is such a fun and fascinating idea. I’ve had great fun reading the quotes and the seeing the pictorial interpretations.
Thank you.
You’re very welcome, Middle Girl – thanks for dropping by! *hugs*
Such awesome images and quotes. I thought I shared one sometime back. My memory is giving me a hard time 😉
You definitely did, Parul, and your wonderful share of, “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me ~ Ayn Rand” will be up for next week’s post. Still trying to figure out a worthy picture. 😀
These look lovely! And such a great idea to pair reader submitted quotes with photographs.
Thanks, Modern Gypsy!
Love them all. This is such a cool idea.
Thank you, Shail!
