One of my favorite quotes by Richard Bach, paired with a sunset picture I took back in the 1980s, near my childhood home in Magnolia, MA.
“Don’t be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.” ~ Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
“Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is?
Read the inaugural post which explains
the idea and how you can participate too.”
~ Melissa S. Ford, Stirrup Queens

This makes me feel a little sad, even though the quote says not to be dismayed. I guess I’ve just been extra emotional this week.
Funny – I’ve seen this quote a bazillion times, and it kinda got me in the feels when I created the graphic too. *hugs* to you, Stephanie.
Goodbyes are a part of life as are meetings. Lovely sunset, Traci. Sun bidding goodbye, till it is back again in our lives the next day. ๐
Very true Shail and sometimes hard to remember that we need to say goodbye before we can say hello again. And thank you!
Beautiful. Both the picture and the quote.
Thanks so much, JW!
I’m in a hyper-emotional state lately, and this just pulled at my heartstrings today. That picture is so beautiful, though.
I had the same reaction, Charlotte, which is one of the reasons I decided to go with this quote. I originally considered this one –
“A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed… It feels an impulsion… this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons.” ~ Richard Bach
– but I felt the goodbye one fit the picture better. *hugs*
I echo, Journeywoman… Truly beautiful, both your photo and the sentiment. ๐
Thanks so much, Kathy!
Beautiful, just beautiful. I love the idea of goodbyes being necessary for the next meeting, whenever/wherever that might be. Love the quote and the sunset photo, totally has a vintage quality to it somehow. Perfect for today.
Thanks, Jess! I considered rescanning the photo and cleaning it up a bit, but changed my mind – now I’m glad I did (although I’m trying not to think too hard about a photo I took in my teens now looking vintage – LOL!).
This makes me smile. I love this quote. And what a beautiful sunset!
I’m so glad, Risa! And thank you!
Wow — your childhood home was in a beautiful space.
I was incredibly lucky to live there, and while I don’t miss the tourist congestion in the summer, I do miss my old neighborhood.
