Okay, so how could I resist coming up with an entry of my top 3 love comedies in gif form?

Needless to say, I couldn’t, so here they are, in no particular order –

Nomination 1 – Date With An Angel

REASON
This is a wicked sentimental choice, because it came out the year hubby & I started dating. While we didn’t see it in the theater, as soon as we rented the VHS from our local Blockbuster, we were hooked! Sadly there is a dearth of gifs on the interwebz (something I plan to remedy some day), but I put this one together real quick. An eighties soundtrack, a heavenly love triangle, and an angel eating french fries for the first time – what’s not to love?

Nomination 2 – Deadpool 2

REASON
Yes, I firmly maintain that both Merc with a Mouth movies (or technically all three, since there’s also the alternate PG-13 version “Once Upon a Deadpool”, which I haven’t seen yet) is most DEFINITELY a rom com. While it’s hard to top the proposal scene in the original, this is the one that made me straight up sob when…. well, I don’t want to spoiler it for you. Oh, and with unicorns, a romantic anniversary dinner, and Celine Dion – how could it be anything else butt…errr, but a romantic comedy?

Nomination 3 – His Girl Friday

REASON
Yes, I’m going wicked old school for this one. I can’t even count how many times I’ve watched this movie over the years – in fact, I watched part of it again just last week. One of the things I love best about this flick is that it never loses its charm. Smart slapstick, love gone wrong (or has it?), and a murder mystery – front page wicked awesomesauceness!
