No News and Good News – a Quick Update on Lumpy and Leaky

Happy Monday, all!

No need for warnings or short versions of today’s post, as I don’t have much new to report on this ongoing possible cancer scenario. Lumpy is still a bit bruised and sore, but the mammogram place called mid-week and cancelled my followup appointment. The reason? My biopsy came back NORMAL! The lump is officially a fibroadenoma, and I just need to continue with yearly mammograms to keep tabs on it.

However, still no closer to find out why Leaky is leaking. I have a consult scheduled with a local oncologist an eternity from now in 3 weeks, but if I can’t get my MRI beforehand, it will just be a risk assessment. I was hoping to find out a scan date today, but no luck yet. And Leaky is my main concern, given I’ve had the that lump on my left side for over 20 years, and it’s not why I went to the ER ALMOST A MONTH AGO!

If anyone’s looking for me, tell them I’m here experimenting with more vodka and ice cream drink recipes calmly waiting for more news. *grin*

  1. You need to make some Khalua pound cake to go with your vodka and ice cream. Holler if you want the recipe. Great news about Lumpy. Now we just have to wait for great news again. Come on, Leaky, step up!

    1. Oooo, that recipe sounds wicked dangerous, Emily! Do you have it up on your blog somewhere? If not, you totally should (and not just so I can pin it, and drool over the picture). Yeah, Leaky is really getting jealous of the quick attention Lumpy got. I think she needs extra vodka!

  2. Lumpy was like a sulky teenager, attention seeking… leaky is probably Mum having a bawl, because you do when you have hormonal teenagers. Three weeks must feel like forever when it is you waiting. I can’t walk far at the moment as doing so with legs, feet, fingers and arms crossed (for luck) makes for unbalance… and the husband says I am already unbalanced enough. Xx

  3. So pleased to hear that you got some GOOD news!!!! 🙂 (Sending you lots more hugs as you wait for the next installment, too!)

    1. Awesomeness, thinky – thanks so much! My next appointment with with the other person you really like, and I already had an awesome conversation with the nurse… facilitator? Okay, I can’t remember her title, but I have a good feeling about them. 😀

    1. Thanks so much, Molly! Limpy is doing pretty good at the moment – while I can’t say this was a “good fracture” (seems almost oxymoronic), it definitely wasn’t as bad as it could have been, and he’s healing nicely. Thanks again! 😀

  4. Three weeks is a long time to wait.Over here such a wait would usually mean that the medics were concerned, but not desperately worried. I don’t know what it might mean in your neck of the woods. Hooray about the good news and we’ll keep hoping that it will be good news from Leaky as well.

    1. Thanks, Judy. I actually got some news yesterday (I was hoping to get it in time for Monday’s update, but no such luck). My MRI is now happening in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed the mystery is solved soon!

  5. Absolutely brilliant to hear the biopsy was negative 🙂 That must certainly be a relief so no doubt all anxiety is now tossed on the other boob and back to that waiting game for the MRI scan. At least you have the date now, but the intervening time allows so much pondering. I trust you will try not to overdo that Traci xx

      1. Most good to hear, and stay away from Google too. A terrible beast that is for those with ailments as we have discussed before! The odd nervous anxiety is permitted, but nothing too untoward or I shall tell you off

  6. I am SO ecstatically pleased to hear that Lumpy is not a problem. That is a huge relief. Now we just need to get leaky sorted out. Fingers crossed you get appointments sorted ASAP! Xxxxxxx

    1. Thanks, Hayley! At the moment, it looks like I might possibly have more news late in the day on the 14th – your finger crossing must be doing the trick!

Feel free to shout out!
