Welcome to another Foto Friday! Bit of a shameless plug before I get started – while I’ve mentioned before that I have some of my photos for sale on Fine Art America, I’ve now recently resurrected my Zazzle store. I put together a last minute calendar for 2017, and I’m slowly adding more photos and products. If there’s a picture I’ve taken that you’d like to see on a particular product, feel free to shout out, and I’ll get it put together in short order.
Now, on to the pictures for this week. These were all taken with my Nikon between April 7th and April 14th, 2017.
Happy Friday, and have a great weekend!

Thanks, Clare! I have a love/SHUT UP relationship with the Eastern Phoebes that visit us every year. They build their nest under the back deck on the second floor (which puts them close to our bedroom window). As a result, there’s a period of time that they sit on the railing early every morning, shouting. “FEEBEE” as loud as they can! I have a short video of one of them perched on our roof, if you’d like to peek –
I looked at the picture of the goldfinch and wondered why it looks different to the ones we get in the garden. It seems there are European goldfinches and American goldfinches. I can see from yours why they’re called goldfinches, but I think ours are marginally prettier. Like Clare, I’ve never heard of phoebes, but I love the picture at the top of the post.
I just Googled, and you’re right April – there’s a difference. I think both varieties are gorgeous – I love the coloring on the European, but there’s something about the all over yellow of the American that is very eye-catching. Thanks for letting me know.

Happy Easter weekend to you as well!
Ta, I will…they look lovely but I think that FEEBEEing would drive me mad 🙂
Yep, like I said, “Love you, now SHUT UP!”
They are hams for my camera though, so it’s a little easier to forgive them. One of my favorite shots is at the top of this post – https://www.traciyork.com/ff-heart-foto-friday-14/
