Photos from the second week of July 2018

A couple days ago, I did a post with all my photos (at least those decent enough for public consumption) from the first week in July. Now that the second week has gone by, I’m back with more shots. These were all taken between July 8th and July 14 and as usual, are from my Durham NH yard.

And for those of you interested in “my process” (makes me sound all official and stuff…lol), I used my trusty Nikon COOLPIX P610 and handy dandy tripod (Amazon affiliate links – thanks for the pennies if you click through and order something…LOL). I used the Auto Mode setting, and typically bounce the exposure bias around between 0 and -2 step. Then I reduced and crop the shots, run them through PicMonkey if necessary to clean them up (can’t tell you how much bird poop I’ve deleted from my photos), then they’re ready for uploading.

Hope you enjoy, and have a great week!

Sunrise on the 8th

Bokehs in their natural habitat

Mr. Broad-winged Hawk stopped in for a bit

And got a little shook up

Two seconds after this shot, he was gone (no doubt after his breakfast)

Since this chipmunk popped up two hours later, I’m thinking this isn’t what caught Mr. Hawk’s attention.

Possibly a Wilson Spider Daylily, side view

Rover Bellflowers at sunset

Closeup with the sun shining from behind

Look – more bokehs!

Different angle

A (possibly a Wilson Spider) Daylily in sun and shadow

The berry on the Jack-in-the-pulpit is getting big!

Maybe next year we’ll have a bunch blooming

Daisies in sun and shadow

Hubby said they look like they’re floating in water

I thought the contrast was pretty cool

A young cardinal exploring the Shagbark tree

He was a wicked spazz, jumping around from spot to spot

Guess he’s still trying to suss out the world

Such a cutie!

One last peek around before he disappeared back into the woods
