In 2016 I put together a calendar for the year 2017, featuring pictures I’d taken each month (I did a post with all the photos HERE). Back then, I was trying to do the least amount of photo editing possible, having gotten the impression somewhere that any kind of adjustment (even exposure) took away from the naturalness of the photo. After seeing the resulting calendar in person, I wondered if maybe doing some editing would’ve been a good thing, to make the shots pop more.
Then when I was putting together yesterday’s post with some re-edits of a few Phoebe pictures, I realized how much fun it was to go through a tweak old captures. I was especially pleased with the redo of this shot…
to this…
So for today, I thought it would be cool to try re-editing some of the photos from the calendar. The results weren’t as dramatic as the one above, because I was trying to keep it close to the original, but I’d say there’s a noticeable difference. Oh, and just like I said in the title, I did so via the online photo editor PicMonkey, which is something I’ve used for a number of years – first the free version, but for the past few years I’ve subscribed to the Basic package, and it’s been totally worth it (not a sponsored post or anything, just how I feel). And while I originally planned to do all twelve, just these six took me the better part of the day, so I might do a part two at some point instead. Hope you enjoy!
