SteemBloPomMo Week Two – checking in and curation (#SteemBloPomMo Day 15)

Today is #SteemBloPomMo Day 15 which means we’re officially halfway through the month! Just like last week, I figured it would be cool to do a bit of checking in, then curating some of the most recent posts people have been sharing.

Four other people are doing this Steem Blog Posting Month along with me, and since the 39 posts last week, we’ve had 32 more posts with the #SteemBloPomMo hash tag, for a total of 71 so far!

And while the whole idea (much like the NaNoWriMo concept that inspired it) was to motivate people to post more consistently, I decided that a little extra encouragement couldn’t hurt. I’ve been upvoting and resteeming every post, and each one I curate for this post gets a @TipU tip.

Now here are the most recent posts in the #SteemBloPomMo feed from @fionasfavourites, @darrenfj, @sustainablelivin (aka @mariannewest), @rwedegis, and myself.

Good Company

by @fionasfavourites

This week’s Sunday Supper deviated from the usual, not only because we had no bookings which is not exactly unusual, but what made it special was the opportunity to catch up with a good friend – one of the first we made when we arrived in the village. He and his partner have a holiday home here which means that over weekends, we’re all often a little like ships provervial in the night. No diners: perfect opportunity for a long overdue catch-up.

Calendula Flowers

by @sustainablelivin

Aren’t they beautiful? Such pretty flowers. Everyone likes to have them in the garden.

They brighten up any area that needs a bit of color. We have them growing with the strawberries, between the lettuces and everywhere we found a spot for them.

But being pretty is not all they can do. These flowers have some powerful healing mojo. There are lots of sources to learn about all the beautiful properties of this plant.

ULOG #29 – Saturday Night Out

by @rwedegis

Saturday Night Out

Our friends Canadian friends Paul and Diane have been visiting this week. Last night was their last night here and our son Jamie’s band was playing at a bar in Palm Bay so we all did a one hour road trip to hear the band. We started things out at the Japanese Buffet next to the bar. I was too busy eating to take any photos at dinner. It’s an awesome restaurant with many different sushi rolls, fresh oysters and other seafood to choose from. Paul and I shared a large bottle of red wine with the meal.

Mostly Silent Sunday – Woodpecker Pictures from April 13 2019 (#SteemBloPoMo Day 14)

by @traciyork

Yesterday morning, as hubby was making an awesome brunch for us (bacon, eggs fried in said bacon grease, and toasted Portuguese muffins on the side), I wandered back into our room and noticed one of our cats staring intently out the window. Now granted, he stares with just as much focus when a gentle breeze blows through the tree leaves, but I took a peek just in case. Sure enough, a Pileated Woodpecker was hard at work getting his own non-bacon (therefore less awesome) breakfast.
