Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of August 4th 2020.
Quick shout out – I’m posting this a bit earlier than usual, as in Monday night just before I hit the hay, because in the morning I’ll be busy hosting my very first Twitter Chat! The topic will come as no surprise – we’ll be tweeting and chatting about Hive. I’ll ask a series of five questions, and everyone following along will share their answers (and possibly ask questions of their own in return – that’s the fun thing about chats, is that you never know where they’ll end up!). If you’d like to join in, either take a peek at my Twitter account, or follow the hash tag, #HiveCHat starting at 8am EST (12 Noon GMT). Or take a peek at the tag at any time to see what kinds of shenanigans abounded! 😊
And now with that said, it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…
First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!
When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.
Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊
I would also like to mention…
Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.
Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. While yesterday was officially the Sturgeon Moon in Aquarius, in some practices (including my own), you make use of the energy the day before, the day of, and the day after she’s full, so I thought I’d share this infographic (sized for both Pinterest and Instagram) that I posted on my Hive blog on Sunday.

Now it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…
…and the messages for each card are…
1. Two of Pentacles
Juggling act. On the one hand, you have your passion – on the other, your responsibilities. You need to make sure you’re giving enough time, energy, and attention to both. I tend to draw this card when I need to reassess how I’m getting things done (or not), and refocus my priorities. There are some stormy seas behind you, but if you manage to keep your balls in the air a little longer, help will arrive. Like the Little River Band says, “Are you always in confusion? Surrounded by illusion? Sort it out. You’ll make out. Seem to make a good beginning, someone else ends up winning. Don’t seem fair? Don’t you care. Hang on. Help is on its way.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Two of Pentacles really, really seems to like the first position – it was there just last week, on July 28th, then just last month (on June 23rd) and the time before that (on March 10th, 2020).
2. The Empress
Mother of all creation. This is the ultimate mother – caring, nurturing, and pregnant with possibilities. You are about to give birth (figuratively speaking, and regardless of gender) to a marvelous creation – a piece of art, a project at work, an idea to make your life so much simpler. This may also mean that the Universe has seen your struggles, recognizes all the hard work you’ve done, and is arranging a serendipitous turn of events that will feel like a great big cosmic hug. Oh, and sometimes when I see this card, I can hear Eric Draven saying (as he quotes William Makepeace Thackeray), “Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Empress hasn’t been seen in over two years! The last time, it was also in the second position, way back on May 8th, 2018!
3. The World
Journey’s End. You’ve been moving towards a goal, and after all your steps (and missteps), you’ve finally reached your destination. Don’t believe it? Think about where you were this time last year, and see how far you’ve come. This can also mean a sudden epiphany about your place in the grand scheme of things, and a desire to connect to a greater community. In either case, it’s time to celebrate, while also getting ready for your next journey (just like Seneca the Younger, and the song both say, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end”).
Tarot Tidbit: The World was last spotted, in the first position, just three weeks ago on July 14th, 2020.
I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of August 4th 2020! Bright blessings to you!
Thanks for stopping by!
