Belated Solstice blessings, early Merry Christmas wishes, and happy holidays everyone! Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of December 22nd 2020.
Before I get started, I wanted to shout out again (as I did last week) about the amazing @hivefest that took place over this past weekend. I did a quick post about my first day, and planned to do a second on Sunday, but ran out of time. I’m thinking about doing an audio post, since I couldn’t talk to anyone during the event (apparently the VR software couldn’t handle the awesomeness that is the Hive community…lol!). However, given that’s a bit out of my wheelhouse, it might take me a day or two to get it all figured out, but in the meantime – thanks once again to @roelandp and everyone who made Hive Fest such an incredible success!
Speaking of Hive (which I seem to do from time to time 😝 ) I also wanted to mention that for the next month, the @fullalt team has joined forces with #HiveTwitter with the goal of making Hive (and HBD) a household name in 2021! And now with that said, it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…
First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!
When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.
Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊
I would also like to mention…
Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.
Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention.

1. Queen of Pentacles
Nurture your dreams. Sometimes it’s hard to hang on to your vision for a brighter future, especially when it seems everything is going wrong and everyone is against you. But with a little confidence in yourself, and a lot of positive attitude, you can do this! Be the supportive and caring motherly type for your own self for a change, and keep in mind (as the saying goes), “Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Queen of Pentacles was last spotted, in the third position, just last month on November 24th, 2020. Prior to that, it hadn’t been seen since the beginning of the year, specifically on January 14th, 2020. I also noted back at that time that it was only the fourth time in all the years of doing Tarot Tuesdays that the Queen of Pentacles made an appearance, which means last month was the fifth, and today is the sixth.
2. Six of Pentacles
Help is needed. You’re generous. Whenever you have more than you need (time, money, love), you give freely to others, and enjoy the feeling that comes with doing good. Now it might be time to let someone give to you. There’s no shame in having a need, and by accepting help, you’re giving someone else the gift of feeling good about their actions. However, pay close attention to the man holding the carefully balanced scale in card picture. It’s a reminder that “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes well you just might find, you get what you need.”
Tarot Tidbit: The last time the Six of Pentacles showed up (almost two months ago, in the first position, on October 27th 2020), I mentioned that it was a bit late for its yearly visit, as it had turned up before on June 4th, 2019, then prior to that on June 19th 2018. I also said I wonder if it will wait until next October to reappear – looks like it didn’t want to wait that long!
3. Two of Pentacles
Juggling act. On the one hand, you have your passion – on the other, your responsibilities. You need to make sure you’re giving enough time, energy, and attention to both. I tend to draw this card when I need to reassess how I’m getting things done (or not), and refocus my priorities. There are some stormy seas behind you, but if you manage to keep your balls in the air a little longer, help will arrive. Like the Little River Band says, “Are you always in confusion? Surrounded by illusion? Sort it out. You’ll make out. Seem to make a good beginning, someone else ends up winning. Don’t seem fair? Don’t you care. Hang on. Help is on its way.”
Tarot Tidbit: After showing up a bunch of times in the first position (including the last time on August 4th 2020), the Two of Pentacles is now here in the third. It also showed up for me as my daily card yesterday (which is when I drew the cards for today), and isn’t a frequent occurrence as you can imagine – in fact, I checked and while it happened pretty recently (on November 24th), I can’t find another time that it did. Also interesting to me (beyond the awesome timing of drawing a card about balancing on the solstice) is that the last time it happened, it was with the The Hierophant during a week where the Queen of Pentacles also showed up. Not sure what it means, but thought I’d mention it anyway.
