Welcome to Tarot Tuesday! I started posting these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of January 21st 2020.
The method of doing these readings is not my original idea – I was inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them, here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…
First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!
When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.
Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊
I would also like to mention…
Here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for your message.
Now, to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m adding a graphic here as a sort of a spacer/spoiler prevention. I did a post yesterday about some of my experiences dealing with my ongoing depression, and decided to revamp not only the graphic, but the poem some unknown genius on the interwebz created years ago. I figured I’d share it here as well. Also, I don’t think I’ve mentioned this lately, but please feel free to share “Buttprints in the Sand” or any of my other spoiler space graphics, if you’d like – I’ve been trying to upload them on my Instagram and Facebook pages as well as here. 😊
Finally, it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…
…and the messages for each card are…
1. Seven of Swords
The Thief. Something is being stolen from you, but not necessarily an object. Someone is stealing your good name, your energy, or your time. However, because the situation isn’t overt (they’re being very sneaky), a direct confrontation probably won’t work. Try being sneaky in return – like the old saying goes, “it takes a thief to catch a thief.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Seven of Swords hasn’t been seen in about 9 months! The last time it was also in the first position, way back on April 9th, 2019.
2. Two of Wands
Stay focused. You’ve put your plan into action, and you’re beginning to see all the possibilities before you. However, you might be tempted at this point to try a short cut in the hopes of speeding up the process. While it might pay off, sometimes it’s better to stand fast and remind yourself of what you’re working towards while continuing the slow and steady path to success. Take a moment to look at the big picture, and know that your ships are on their way in, and soon you’ll be the king of the world!
Tarot Tidbit: The Two of Wands was recently spotted, also in the second position, last month on December 24th, 2019.
3. The Devil
Check your chains. Take a look at the things you think are holding you back. You might find the chains are loose enough to escape from, and your captivity was an illusion all along. I also tend to draw this card I get when I need to do a reality check – like, how much am I overindulging in things (gaming, alcohol, chocola… wait a second, there’s no such thing as chocolate overindulgence! *grin*), or how uptight am I being (afraid to splurge, nervous to try new things). Now is the time for “Breaking the chains around you/Nobody else can bind you/Take a good look around you/Now you’re breaking the chains.”
Tarot Tidbit: The last time The Devil showed up, it was also in the third position, back a few months ago on September 10th, 2019.
I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of January 21st 2020! Bright blessings to you!
