Happy New Year and welcome to my first Tarot Tuesday post for 2021! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of January 5th 2021.
In a strange sort of bookend to last week’s reading, I feel like there are so many things I want to say, but they’ve all sort of disappeared now that I have a quiet moment at my keyboard. However, this has a different vibe to it – while I didn’t feel particularly negative last week, I wasn’t in what I’d say was a peppy state of mind. And while things aren’t in the most positive of places at the moment, on about every level (I won’t even mention that it’s coming up on a year since we bought the car that ended up breaking down on the highway last March just before everything went south, and we’re trying to arrange a time to bring it to yet another mechanic since it’s currently not safe to drive… wait, does that count as mentioning? 😂 ), but it feels like it will be soon.
And now that I’m done using a lot of words to say that I didn’t know what to say (which seems like a perfect start to 2021), it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…
First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!
When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.
Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊
I would also like to mention…
Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.
Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. My last post of 2018 was called, Have a Happy and Magically Witchy New Year!, and I created a quoto for it with a Neil Gaiman quote. Last December (as in, 2019) I updated it using a composite photo I created a year or so ago.
Now it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…
…and the messages for each card are…
1. Ace of Cups
The cup of inspiration. You are getting ideas, thoughts, tentative plans, maybe even considering a new love (be it person or artistic endeavor). You have a sense of something percolating just under the surface. It’s not your imagination. In the wise words of Natasha Bedingfield you are “Reaching for something in the distance / So close you can almost taste it / Release your inhibitions / Feel the rain on your skin / No one else can feel it for you / Only you can let it in.” You’ve been thirsty for something, and now you’re getting a taste of what you want. Go for it!
Tarot Tidbit: The Ace of Cups hasn’t been seen in well over a year! The last time, it was in the third position on September 24th, 2019. And prior to that, it hadn’t been seen for a year and a half prior, showing up in the third position on March 20th, 2018.
2. Seven of Wands
Never give up, never surrender. You’ve been fighting the good fight, and thought you were almost there. Now, all of a sudden, you feel like you’re being attacked on all sides. Don’t despair – keep on keeping on, and you will soon find victory at hand. Try to bear in mind that people are probably giving you such a hard time because they want what you have (financially or creatively). Jealousy tends to bring out the worst in people. Oh, and yes – “Never give up, never surrender” is a quote from, “Galaxy Quest.” *grin*
Tarot Tidbit: The Seven of Wands was last spotted, in the first position, just a month ago on December 8th, 2020. On a more personal note, it’s shown up for me as my daily card three times in the past two weeks. The Universe is really pushing this message at the moment, which I’m thinking is not a bad thing at all.
3. Three of Pentacles
Job well done! All your training, practicing, and hard work is paying off. You have that thing that you can do better than anyone else, and you’re starting to get noticed for it. You may find people want to buy your stuff, consult with your expertise, or they might even make you an offer you can’t refuse. It may also mean that while you have talent, you’ll go further if you enlist the help of others – either collaborating on a project, getting funding from an outside source, or just encouraging and giving support to people doing similar things. Remember, “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Three of Pentacles was last seen, in the first position, just a couple of months ago on November 10th, 2020. Prior to that, it hadn’t been since the spring of last year, last appearing on March 12th, 2019 in the first position.
I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of January 5th 2021! Bright blessings to you!
