Tarot Tuesday reading for the week of October 20th 2020

Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of October 20th 2020.

First a quick shout out about the long awaited update to my favorite WordPress plugin, formerly known as SteemPress, which now has the awesomely cool new name of, @exxp which is a sort of shorthand for their slogan, “Express yourself cross platform: a plugin to power your website with blockchain technology.” I plan to do a whole blog post about it sometime later this week (of course…lol), but for the time being if you’re interested, be sure to check out their announcement post on the Hive Blockchain, or their new website.

And now with that said, it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!

When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I would also like to mention…

disclaimer

Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.

Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. Since the moon has been on my mind a great deal lately, between the Moon Monday posts I’ve been doing and the upcoming Blue Moon on Halloween/Samhain, I thought I’d share a few of the quotos I’ve made over the years. I’d like to create a few more, so if you have any favorite moon related quotes you like to see paired with some my my La Luna captures, please feel free to shout out!

Now it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…

…and the messages for each card are…

1. Page of Swords

Storm’s coming. There’s a quote by an unknown author floating around social media that reminds me of this card – “Fate whispers to the warrior, “You cannot withstand the storm. And the warrior whispers back, “I am the storm.” You have the energy, the knowledge, and the drive to get what you want. The biggest challenge comes in harnessing the power of the lightning, before the storm passes. Grab it quick while you can, and “heart to heart you’ll win“!

Tarot Tidbit: The Page of Swords hasn’t been seen in almost two years! The last time it was also in the first position, back on January 29th, 2019, and the time before that was earlier in the same month, in the same first position on January 8th, 2018.

2. The Devil

Check your chains. Take a look at the things you think are holding you back. You might find the chains are loose enough to escape from, and your captivity was an illusion all along. I also tend to draw this card I get when I need to do a reality check – like, how much am I overindulging in things (gaming, alcohol, chocola… wait a second, there’s no such thing as chocolate overindulgence! *grin*), or how uptight am I being (afraid to splurge, nervous to try new things). Now is the time for “Breaking the chains around you/Nobody else can bind you/Take a good look around you/Now you’re breaking the chains.

Tarot Tidbit: The Devil was last spotted, in the third position, back during the summer on July 14th, 2020. This is the first time in the past few times that it’s not in the third position, as the two times prior it was also in the third position (on January 21st, 2020 and September 10th, 2019), which I actually made a point to mention during its last appearance.

3. Justice

Time for some balance. You’re out of whack. You’re spending too much time on one side of the scale – lots of thinking, but little doing; focusing on spiritual, but not physical; loads of time for work but nothing for play. It’s time to bring things back into balance. It might not be easy to take action, get exercising, say “no” or pass up some overtime – however it is what’s needed. Try to get the balance right.

Tarot Tidbit: Justice hasn’t been seen in just over a year! The last it was last spotted it was also in the third position, on October 8th, 2019.

I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of October 20th! Bright blessings to you!
