Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of September 8th 2020.
Quick shout out to everyone – I’ve been thinking for a few months now about changing up the graphics for my Tarot Tuesdays, especially after a dear friend & artist @stellabelle mentioned my blog thumbnails in general could do with a bit of a refresh (which is something I’ve been thinking about since August… of last year…😂 ). At any rate, I think I’d like to have my Tarot Tuesday graphic as the same image every week (like my Tarot deck spread out in a half circle) with just the date of the reading. Up until now though, I’ve always used a new, “back of the cards” photo for the thumbnail, and I guess what I’m asking is – would you be more or less likely to visit the post if you didn’t see the three card backs in the thumbnail image? I’d appreciate any feedback as I ponder how I want to do this.
And now with that said, it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…
First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!
When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.
Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊
I would also like to mention…
Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.
Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. It’s been a while since I shared this – I put this quoto together back in January of 2017, then in February got this wicked cool reply from the quote’s author on my Instagram post, so it looks like Zara’s approves – YAY! *grin*

Now it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…
…and the messages for each card are…
1. Page of Cups
The Look of Love. I think of this as the Romeo card – time to fall in love, either with a person, a story idea, a creative project, or something of that sort. You may also be receiving a message of love from someone – maybe not as overt as flowers and chocolate, but something to show they care. It could be as simple as a bringing you a fresh cup of coffee, or sharing a Facebook meme, that shows they are thinking of you. Artistically, it’s that moment of sudden inspiration, when you see your project in a new light, or a bizarre-yet-brilliant idea presents itself – go with it.
Tarot Tidbit: The Page of Cups was last seen back in the spring, in the second position, on April 14th, 2020.
2. The Magician
You can create it. You’re powerful. Whatever the problem or issue is that you’ve been having, you have the the tools to solve it right at your fingertips. Don’t give away your power – claim it, use it, and you will be unstoppable. And while I know it might seem like a strange comparison, whenever I get this card, it reminds me to invoke my inner Dark Willow. Not in an “bringing about the Apocalypse out of sheer grief” kind of way – more of a “channeling the magic and tapping into your inner badass.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Magician hasn’t been seen in almost a year – the last time, it was in the first position, back on October 1st, 2019. Before that, while it was spotted in July of 2019, the time before was well over a year, on May 8th, 2018.
3. The Empress
Mother of all creation. This is the ultimate mother – caring, nurturing, and pregnant with possibilities. You are about to give birth (figuratively speaking, and regardless of gender) to a marvelous creation – a piece of art, a project at work, an idea to make your life so much simpler. This may also mean that the Universe has seen your struggles, recognizes all the hard work you’ve done, and is arranging a serendipitous turn of events that will feel like a great big cosmic hug. Oh, and sometimes when I see this card, I can hear Eric Draven saying (as he quotes William Makepeace Thackeray), “Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children.”
Tarot Tidbit: The Empress last paid a visit just last month, when it was spotted in the second position on August 4th, 2020. But before that, it hadn’t been around in over two years – the last time, it was also in the second position, way back on May 8th, 2018!
I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of September 8th 2020! Bright blessings to you!
