Tarot Tuesday weekly reading for October 22nd 2019

Happy Tarot Tuesday! Welcome to another one of my weekly tarot card readings. I started posting these free readings monthly back in late 2015, and switched to weekly in early 2016. They are by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. The reading today is for the week of October 22nd 2019.

Super quick life update first, since so many have asked – hubby is recovering slowly but surely from his shoulder surgery earlier this month. Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes our way!

Okay, now back to the Tarot reading – since I do mine are a little different than some other readers on other social media (though it’s definitely not my original idea – in fact, I was inspired by a couple other WordPress bloggers), here’s a quick rundown on how this works…

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three!

When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I should also mention…

Now, here are the backs of the cards (and yep, it’s a brand new picture every week). Take a moment to center yourself and focus. When you’re ready, look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. After that, scroll down to the bottom of my post for your message.

October 22nd 2019 Back

Next, to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m adding a graphic here as a bit of a spacer/spoiler prevention. Since I’ve had crows on my mind a great deal lately, especially since I bought one of my first ever non-Rider-Waite-Smith decks not too long ago (spoiler alert – it’s the Crow Tarot 😂 ), I thought I’d include this infographic I put together back in May 2017, for a Witchy Quote Challenge I set for myself. I’m hoping some time in the not too distant future to do a deck review, or some readings with the deck – not exactly sure yet though, since things have been so hectic here that the deck is still wrapped in the protective plastic it arrived in (and yes, not too long ago actually translates to June…lol!)!

Finally, it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…

October 22nd 2019 Front

…and the messages for each card are…

1. King of Cups

Calm, cool, collected. There’s been a great deal of drama in your life as of late, and the King is here to remind you that you can have emotions, but you are in control of them, not the other way around. See how he manages to keep his cup steady, even in the stormiest seas? He’s mastered the art of expressing feelings in a calm and mature manner. The logical mind and the intuitive heart can work together successfully, if you practice enough. And keep in mind, like Incubus says in Drive, “…lately I am beginning to find/That I should be the one behind the wheel.”

Tarot Tidbit: This is only the second time the King of Cups has made an appearance on a Tarot Tuesday! The first time was back on August 20th, 2019, when it was in the third position.

2. Two of Cups

Makes the world go ’round. While it’s easy to see this is a card about love, what’s not so obvious is that it also represents other relationships, not just the romantic one between two (or more) people. This could be a recent furry/feathered addition to the family, a passion for a creative process (writing, painting, knitting), or even something as simple as discovering a new favorite show to binge-watch (like Farscape or Jessica Jones). It’s also a reminder that the first, most important love we should have is for ourselves. As the late, great Lucille Ball once said, “Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”

Tarot Tidbit: The Two of Cups was last seen, in the third position, back on July 23rd 2019. Prior to July, it hadn’t been seen in almost a year.

3. The Moon

Something mystical this way comes. You know the craziness that arrives with the full moon? You’re about to get your own personal full moon-itis. You’ll find yourself saying many times over, “What the absolute *insert profanity of choice* is going on?” But like a roller coaster ride (which is what your life will feel like for a short time), you have the option to squeeze your eyes shut, hang on to the handrail, and scream the whole time, or toss your arms up in the air like you just don’t care (after making sure your seat belt is fastened), hoot & holler, and enjoy the hell out of it. Your creative juices are also in high gear, so go for the gusto and make your dreams come true!

Tarot Tidbit: The Moon was last seen, back at the beginning of this year, also in the third position on February 26th, 2019.
