Yesterday, the predicted Four’easter was a non-event. While enough snow fell early morning that we needed to brush off hubby’s work truck, by the time the storm drifted away, even that inch or two was mostly melted.
Needless to say, my enthusiasm for snow snaps is not what it used to be, so I barely touched my camera all day. But last night, after a quick trip to the store to pick up last minute fixings for the youngest girl’s birthday dinner (she turned 18 today!!!!), I noticed the clouds had cleared enough for the almost-first-quarter moon to peek out.
It wasn’t until I zoomed in that I noticed the bright star below the moon. Thanks to my handy-dandy smart phone app, I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to screencap the info quickly ascertained it was Aldebaran.
Here’s seven (for luck) shots, in the order they came off the camera, taken about 8:45pm EST whilst standing the in driveway of my Durham, NH home.
