This started off as an idea for a quick Throwback Thursday post for my mother. She’s very fond of a particular little yellow bird, and given that it’s yet another grey rainy day here in New England, the idea of combing through my photo archives and grabbing a half dozen pictures to post seemed like a cheery and easy peasy way to spend my morning. Many, many hours later, I now have twenty-five pictures of Goldfinches over the years that I pulled from the close to one hundred I found before I gave up…lol!
Some of these have been posted on my blog or other social media, but some haven’t been seen before. All of them were given new edits via PicMonkey – mostly exposure and sharpness, but in a few cases I played with some filters and focus edits. They were all taken between May 2015 and June 2018 in my Durham NH backyard.
OH! And I almost forgot – in my search, I also found a short, two minute video of a Goldfinch singing a song on a nearby tree. I’m not sure why I didn’t share it before, other than the fact that the wind blowing across the built-in mic was more than a bit annoying, but when watching it today, I thought it was still kinda cool. So I uploaded it to YouTube and included the link below.
Now on to the photos!
