Wednesday Walk on April 17th 2019 (#SteemBloPoMo Day 17)

FINALLY! I actually got outside this morning (April 17th) and took new pictures! The sun was out, the ridiculous wind gusts and chilly temps of the past million years few days turned into gentle breezes and sunshine, so I couldn’t resist wandering with my camera for a few. I’m starting to believe spring might be here after all!

Speaking of wandering, don’t forget to wander on over to @tattoodjay‘s latest post, called Wednesday walk challenge Hunters Point Park and Steem Basic Income Give away ) with some beautiful captures of a park in NYC. And if you’re interested in joining in on the SteemBloPoMo challenge this month, check out my post HERE.

Now, on to my shots!

I actually spotted this bit of green in the woods (just off the side yard) when I was out with our dog Sandy. After he was done with his business, I grabbed my camera & tripod, and this was the first shot I took.

Something else I noticed in the same area – the Solomon’s Seal that’s grown every year on this rock is already starting to sprout.

A wider shot (with my shadow in the foreground) of the boulder it grows on. If you squint, you can see it in the center right, along that little ridge thing.

Okay, it must be spring, since the trees are finally budding! Not sure what kind of tree this is, but…

… I do know this budding tree is a Shagbark Hickory.

From budding trees to blooming flowers – some nice little sprinkles of white violets and dandelions on the lawn close to the house.

And green grass!

I’d swear five minutes ago this was frozen and brown!

I noticed this shot by accident – the sun was a bit blinding, so I stepped forward into a shady spot, then noticed how cool the sun looked behind the trees

The branches look like magical spiderwebs!

I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it!

Okay, last one – a closeup of the sparkly buds

Over by our driveway, we have green things sprouting too.

The rose bush by the driveway has some buds among the thorns

While I was out, I noticed a lot of bird song, but no sign of the actual birds. A second before this shot, I realized why – a large hawk flew overhead, and went down behind those trees (I wasn’t fast enough to get him in frame)

Missed the hawk, but caught some beautiful buds against the blue cloudless sky -I’d still call it a win!

Happy walking & see you next week!
