On Thursday, August 18th, the Full Aquarius Moon arrives, and brings with it a kinda sorta, itsy bitsy, tiny almost, little bit of an eclipse. To suss out what this means, I once again scoured the interwebz for people more well-versed in astrology than me.
First, a little blurb about the non-event eclipse from Astrology King –
Lunar eclipse August 2016 will not produce any shadow over the moon so is going to act more like a normal full moon lasting 14 days. This is just long enough to finish tying up the loose ends of the last six months and start preparing for a brand new eclipse cycle starting on September 1.
Then, more details on the Full Aquarius Moon from The Dark Pixie Astrology –
A full moon occurs in Aquarius on August 18th at 5:27AM ET. Aquarius wants us to look at things from a wider perspective than Leo, and while full moon’s tend to be more emotional, we can be more detached with this full moon, striving to think things through better and look at all of the information we have. We can consider the way our decisions and actions impact not only the people around us, but the world. This can make us more charitable and willing to take up a good cause so we can contribute to the world in some way. We can come together as a group, and we can see how we all fit together but still allow each other to be ourselves.
If we feel like someone is trying to fit us in a box, we can rebell in a big way, craving independence and freedom. We may see more people behaving this way, protesting and pushing against social norms or authority figures. It can be a good full moon to go against the grain and challenge traditional thoughts, beliefs, and ways of living.
This full moon is sextile (positive aspect, two signs away) transit Uranus in Aries, and Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, so we can feel quite at ease with this energy, and find it easier to step outside of comfort zones, be independent, and create change. There may be some sort of change that comes with this full moon. The full moon is also quincunx (hard aspect, five signs away) transit Jupiter in Virgo, and since quincunxes are erratic energy, there can be some adjustments that need to be made relating to expansion, practicality, higher education, travel, work/jobs, health, beliefs/religion, or daily life.
Finally, here is the graphic I created for the occasion, using a picture I took of last August’s full moon. Bright Full Aquarius Moon Blessings!
