The full moon in April is usually called “The Growing Moon” or “The Pink Moon,” but because we’re also having a total lunar eclipse when the moon turns full on the fourth, it gets to be referred to as the much more dramatic sounding, “Full Blood Moon” (not to be confused with the name for the October Full moon, also called “The Blood Moon.” The term comes from the reddish hue that happens during the process known (in my case, thanks to Google) as Rayleigh scattering.
According to the page, “The White Goddess” this full moon, in the balancing sign of Libra –
is the best time to work magick involving artistic work, justice, court cases, partnerships and unions, mental stimulation, and karmic, spiritual, or emotional balance. Healing rituals for ailments of the lower back or kidneys are also done during this period of time.
A lunar eclipse in general is great for working spells to do with abundance, power, fertility, removing blocks, and psychic abilities, and a full lunar eclipse is extremely powerful.
