After I discovered Wicca through Scott Cunningham‘s books back in the early 90s, I expanded my quest for witchy knowledge, and bought (along with Uncle Bucky’s Big Blue Book), Margot Adler’s Drawing Down the Moon. While Cunningham had an easily accessible way of connecting with the reader, Adler came across (to me, anyway) as a wise woman writing a history book of the Craft. After flipping through my paperback (copyright 1986 – yikes!), I’ve gained a fresh appreciation for her work, and plan to reread it sometime in the very near future.
In honor of her upcoming birthday on the 16th (she would turned sixty-nine this year), I created this visual quote. It seemed only natural to use the full moon picture I took on April 4th as the background.
Happy birthday, Margot Adler. And happy New Moon (on the 18th) to everyone else!
Feel free to shout out!
