Your Tarot Tuesday reading for the week of January 8 2019

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Tarot Tuesday reading! This one is for the coming week beginning today, January 8 2019.

If this is the first time you’ve visited one of my Tarot posts, it works like this –

Next, to ensure you don’t accidentally see the card faces before you’ve made your choice, I’m using a picture as a kind of spacer/spoiler prevention. This week’s graphic is something I created back in May 2017, as part of my Witch Quote Challenge in honor of National Photography Month. My challenge was to create quotos – paring my photographs with quotes given to me by my readers. The handsome fellow in this shot is wild crow I’ve named Angel.

3. Five of Cups

Snap out of it. You’ve had a run of bad luck, and it seems like every time you turn around, something (or someone) is knocking over a cup of your happiness. While you’re not wrong, you’re forgetting something important – you have plenty of other cups still standing. Focusing on what’s gone wrong, and what you’ve lost, won’t stand the cups back up again and make the water reappear. Voice your disappointment, give yourself a little time to wallow, then pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.

2. King of Wands

Take Charge Time. You have the intelligence, you have the determination. Now point that wand in the direction you want to go, and don’t even think about wavering from your path until you get to your destination. See that itty bitty little salamander in the bottom right corner of the card? Think of it as a baby dragon (since salamanders are associated with fire), who just needs encouragement and direction. Soon it will be a fiercesome force to be reckoned with, and you will be as formidable as the Mother of Dragons.

1. Page of Swords

Storm’s coming. There’s a quote by an unknown author floating around social media that reminds me of this card – “Fate whispers to the warrior, “You cannot withstand the storm. And the warrior whispers back, “I am the storm.” You have the energy, the knowledge, and the drive to get what you want. The biggest challenge comes in harnessing the power of the lightning, before the storm passes. Grab it quick while you can, and “heart to heart you’ll win“!

Tarot Tidbits: We have another case of “card buddies” (a term I made up back in August 2018 to describe cards that previously showed up in readings together). The Five of Cups and The King of Wands were both last seen at the same time, in different positions, on October 16th 2018 – the King in the second position, and the Five in the third position. Also, the last time the Page of Swords showed up, it was in the first position on November 27th, 2018. Not sure if this will hold any significance to anyone, but I like mentioning it, just in case.
